You are viewing a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe. This is a complete car with good glass, chrome garnish moldings and the X member and wishbones have not been cut. Dash is uncut and car is stock with all trim. Even has original springs front and rear with after market shocks. It is a good rolling car, but rough bondo spots under paint in several places as it was repaired and painted a long time ago. Has some rust in trunk tool pan, inner fender in trunk, bottom of pan below bumper - the part that rolls under and a little on lower right quarter panel and bottom of lower fenders. All these metal parts are available through early ford part dealers as reproduction panels. A diamond in the rough still it is a very complete 1940 Deluxe coupe with spare hood, fender, Muncie transmission and misc small parts including new headlight buckets, hood nose trim, restoration rubbers and seals, hood nose piece , and complete trunk handle assembly. Trunk does not lock down but looks like they were going to put new locking handle on it as it came with it. Has new interior door handles and dash knobs trim etc. Aftermarket radio is a 12 vlt car. With very little work could be a nice nostalgic driver. Under the hood you will find a small block Chevy engine that is mounted to the original motor mounts with an adaptor. This is hooked to a three speed GM trans, open driveshaft and what looks like a GM rearend. The motor does turn over well. Electric Fuel pump pumps and ignition turns it over. Has not been started in many years. Has been in hibernation for about 20 plus years. According to the previous owner it was driven until the day it was parked by his late father and has sit since he last parked it some years ago. It was probably built early 70s. Brakes have a full pedal. Tail lights and headlights work OK. Interior is in good condition. The seats and headliner are in good condition with no rips or tears. All in all this is a good rolling 40 Ford Deluxe Coupe and as stated earlier with very little work could be a nice nostalgic driver. It is currently looking for a new home. How about yours?
